Most of the letter concerns Kean's King Lear; Smith indicates that she hears that he is "too magnificent in it:" "with the madness of Lear you combine the magical powers of Prospero, seeing that you make real clouds pass over your stage and a real wind howl." Address on letter: 12 Cavendish Place.
